Breaking up is hard to do

It’s a little tough to watch, really. It seems crying wolf one too many times has finally caught up with “retired” Packer legend Brett Favre, as his pathetic attempts at a comeback have sadly devolved into a tragic display of second-guessing gone horribly wrong. Number 4 asked Green Bay for his outright release, and they refused. Instead, they offered one of the NFL’s all-time greatest quarterbacks, fresh off one of his best seasons ever, a job as Aaron Rodgers’ backup.

Ouch. Burn.

Why is it so hard for some of these sports giants to stay away - especially after saying their goodbyes? Don’t they know it’s never going to be as good as it was during their heydays? While most do it right, those who linger too long generally end up doing nothing more than embarassing themselves.

A good friend of mine - a lifelong Packer fan who shall remain nameless - once told me during Favre’s MVP glory years that he could watch this guy, um, perform a certain bodily function. Buddy, I think you’re watchin’ it right now.
