Ms. Merkel, open this gate!

This is Chancellor Angela Merkel and former President George Bush gettin’ all photo oppy in front of the Brandenburg Gate last week during the new United States Embassy’s opening ceremony. Which is odd, because apparently Merkel has a problem with the next likely President giving a speech in front of Berlin’s most famous landmark.

Funny how it’s ok with Merkel for the father of a fellow Iran hardliner to make public appearances with the Gate as a backdrop, but not for the next probable leader of the free world who might actually consider talking to the Iranians. Note to the Chancellor - not the best way to start a relationship with the head of America’s political future.

C’mon, SDP - get ‘er done.
